Currently, housing stock, excluding North Colerne, is largely beyond the affordability of most young families and this forces the young to move away from the parish, or be unable to move closer to family for support with children/to provide social care for parents.

According to our 2018 Housing Needs Survey, we need to provide 10 more affordable rented properties, and this is before we consider the changing needs of our existing residents throughout the parish.

We only have small pockets of land that are available for development, and we are restricted by Green Belt, AONB and Wiltshire's Open Countryside" planning policies.  Within these constraints we can only plan for housing that we can show we truly need as a rural area, and this is not viable for a market developer.
